Lampert Lumber is the premier provider of lumber and building materials in Sandstone. We have proudly served contractors and residents for over a century. Pine County is home to the small city of Sandstone, Minnesota. The city runs along the Kettle River and only has three access points. Residents can travel in and out of the city using Interstates 35, 23 and 18. We’re proud to work with resdients of Sandstone each day. In 1857, the town was incorporated with the name Village of Fortuna. The city was formed on land near the Kettle River and Point Douglas Superior Military Road just north of Fortuna. Just a few years later, the city had over 200 residents. Fortuna and the newly incorporated city decided to merge in their re-incorporation in 1920. Kettle Lake is the town’s pride and joy. The city is located in the river and residents enjoy it year round. In summer months, residents come to Kettle Lake to enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing and other recreational activities. During the colder winter months, the lake hosts the Sandstone Ice Festival that celebrates winter coming. The annual event features ice climbing, winter camping and snowshoeing. Banning State Park stretched 10 miles through Sandstone’s city limits. The park creeps up to Kettle Lake. It is known as the premiere destination for kayakers and canoeing. The park has two access and boat ramps allowing for easy entering and exiting of the lake. If you are a resident or contractor in the Sandstone area, we are here to help.
