I was born and raised in Duluth, MN. My dad worked on the BNSF railroad from the time I was very young. Thankfully he was a member of a Union as there were many times the railroad would try to bring in outside labor because it was cheaper or tried to offer small settlements for injuries to workers’ bodies. I believe without the Union our quality of life would not have been what it was.
