EMPLOYMENT NOTICE AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES [AIS] AND LAND USE INTERNSHIP PINE CoUNTY Position: AIS and Land Use Internship Union: Non-Union Location: Pine City, MN FLSA Status: Non-Exempt ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Conduct watercraft inspections and assist coordination of Watercraft Inspectors Assist AlS education efforts induding: tabling at events, mailings, and advertisement campaigns .Conduct AIS outreach to lake associations and resorts Assist County Shoreland Management Program and other office functions Design promotional materials. Position is from May 2019 through August 2019 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary water resources, natural resources, or related degree progranm and must possess a valid driver's license. Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication and must be capable of working with the public, other agencies, and law enforcement. Applicants must have the ability to work independently, in a team setting, must be organized, and willing to work in adverse weather conditions. Appliats must be able to lift 25 pounds. Training for AlS will be coordinated through the DNIR priorotarting date PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Natural Resources Management and Aquatic Invasive Species.
