PINE COUNTY AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS Pine County has been awarded Federal Funds for Phase 41. The source of funding is a Federal Appropriation from Congress to the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. The National Board selects jurisdictions (cities and counties) for fund- ing, not specific agencies. The federal department responsible for this program is the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). These are not state/county government funds or United Way Funds. A Local Board will determine how the funds awarded are to be distributed. Pine County has been chosen to receive $16,820 in Phase 41 to supplement emer- gency food and shelter programs in Pine County. Local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice non discrimina- tion, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a volunteer board. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply. Agencies interested in applying must contact Kaitlyn Mattison, Local Board Chair, A Place For You, 220 3 rd Ave SE, Pine City, 320-469-4236 for an application. The deadline for applications to be received is Friday, June 14th at 4 PM. The meeting to distribute funds will be set up as a Zoom meeting and those applying will be notified of the date. If you are requesting funding, you must attend the Zoom meeting. PINE COUNTY AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS Pine County has been awarded Federal Funds for Phase 41.
